Shirley Jane Miner

Shirley Jane Miner, 90, of Arvada, CO passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019, surrounded by family in Lakewood, CO. She was born in Denver, CO on September 25, 1929 to Monty and Ruth (Warren) Hymer.

Shirley married Albert Eugene Miner on March 5, 1949 in Raton, New Mexico. To this union Michael Edward, Janee Denise, Janene Diane, Julie Ann, Ronald Perry, David Alan and Laura Jane was born.

Happily Shirley was a homemaker for many years. Once her children were grown, she ventured into the workplace at Alsco Aluminum . During her 10 + years, she assembled storm windows and doors. She loved crafting, sewing, crocheting and gardening. Shirley also enjoyed studying the history of Denver. Shirley’s love for her immediate and extended family was strong and unwavering. This love was extended to her community by caring for others children along with her sister Sylvia, in MOPS for many years.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter Julie Bailey. She is survived by her sisters, Sylvia Carpentier, Althea Wallden, and brother Richard Haynes. Children, Michael Miner, Janee (Jim) Bucher, Janene (Edward) Griffith, Ronald Miner, David (Rita) Miner, and Laura Stillman.

She is also survived by many grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
