

Shirley Fern Schuette, formerly Shirley Hutt, formerly Shirley Decker, passed away in the early morning hours of October 11, 2022, at the age of 85. She was born in Arkansas City, Kansas, grew up in Rawlins and Sinclair, Wyoming, then moved to southwest Denver with her first husband and their children in the mid-1960s.
Family and friends were her greatest joy and she loved hosting large and small gatherings in her home where everyone was welcome. Shirley lived her faith using her loving heart to reach out her hand to all in need.
Shirley spent many happy hours shopping, whether she brought anything home or not. Her extensive travels across the United States included both coasts, Hawaii, and an extended trip through Europe with her husband.
Survivors include her husband, Gunter Schuette; her daughters, Cynthia and April Hutt; her son, Brian Hutt; her daughter, Julie Beard and Julie’s husband, Doug. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford and Clarence (Arch) Decker; her sister, Marilyn Smith and her first husband, Brian D. Hutt.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, November 5th at Brentwood United Method Church, 1899 S. Irving St., Denver, CO 80219.
Her final resting place will be near her parents, Clarence and Irma Decker, at the Rawlins Cemetery in Rawlins, Wyoming.
