Born in Denver, Colorado in 1965, Stacey had a wonderful childhood. She grew up in Arvada, CO and graduated from Pomona High School in 1983. She was a three-sport athlete throughout high school, and pursued an athletic career shortly after in basketball. After graduating high school Stacey went on to obtain her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Kansas Weslyan. She graduated in 1987. She went on to get her Master’s of Social Work with an emphasis in school social work at Denver University. Stacey had a deep passion for helping others.
Stacey worked as a social worker and mental health provider in Jefferson County Public Schools for 30 years. Her true selfless nature shined through her work with her students, one that is truly inspirational and admirable. She primarily worked at North Arvada Middle School, and throughout her years spent there, she developed a strong rapport with her colleagues and students. To this day, Stacey kept in contact with many of those she impacted through her time as a school social worker.
Stacey married Terry Perkins and they had two beautiful children, Breanna Louise (1990) and Shayne “Buddy” Michael (1992). They eventually divorced, but maintained friendly contact throughout the years. Stacey went on to marry Kevin Eckhardt July 18, 1997. Shortly after, she gave birth to Abigail Rose (1998) and Adam Joseph (1999). Those who knew Stacey knew her children were her world, and her entire adult life was dedicated to providing a beautiful life for them. Stacey also had an unconditional love for her grandson, Axel. Her years after retirement were spent being the greatest “nan” to her little man.
She is survived by her two parents Lawrence and Anna-mae Kloberdanz; her siblings, Steve, Sharon, Sandra, and Scott; her husband, Kevin; and her children, Breanna, Shayne, Abby, and Adam.
Stacey was a light in this world. Her infectious personality instantly bettered even the worst of moods. She was the life of every party and she will be missed so dearly. She has left an everlasting mark on our lives that simply could never be replaced.
