

Ted was born in Portsmouth, Virginia to Ted C. and Margaret Lindtveit. In his early years, the family lived in Pennsylvania, but the remainder of his childhood was spent in Franklin Square and Elmont, Long Island, New York. Ted graduated from Sewanhaka High School, Floral Park, NY and has an Associate Degree at the State University of New York at Farmingdale. As a young man he was a member of the Order of De Molay. He spent 2 years in the U. S. Army at Fort Dix, NJ and Fort Carson, CO. On June 25, 1967, he married Bernice Murray in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ted returned to college in August 1967 to finish his education. Ted and Bernice moved to Colorado in June 1967 and have resided in the Denver area ever since. Ted worked for 13 years at The Henderson Mine in Empire, CO in the electrical department and has many fond memories. Ted was on the Mine Rescue Team and we had many good times with the family members during competition. In April 1988, he went to work for County Technical Services, Inc. in the Loss Prevention Department. He was brought on board by Allen Chapman, they have worked together for over 40 years. Ted has many fond memories at C.T.S.I. and he loved all of his fellow team members and his job. He was very sad when he had to retire after 29 years. Ted is a member of the Colorado Trapper’s Association and The Clear Creek County Sportsman’s Club. Hunting, bow hunting for carp, fishing, camping, watching classic movies, motorcycle racing, and reading were his passions. Ted had a full, fun, and wonderful life with his motorcycles, guns and bows. He loved the outdoors and the prairie of southeast Colorado where he would ride his motorcycles, racing as fast as he could. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bernice, his daughter, Lesa Chase, and son-in-law Mark Chase, brother-in-law, Dean (Pat) Murray, and sister-in-law, Louise (Floyd) Moss. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Klotzburger, brother Tom (Pat) Lindtveit, and many nieces and nephews. His parents proceeded him in death. A celebration of Ted's life will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017, 2 pm at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary Chapel of Peace. He will be laid to rest at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery.
