Dear Sandy,
I still remember the day we met you guys. Elaine had to stand on a cement block to see over the fence. She wasn't wearing her wig, so she put her hand on her head and said I don't usually look like this.
We had many fun times together, many laughs and much love. We started out as friends. Then good friends and for a long time now I have considered you family.
I have missed seeing you guys during this covid 19 pandemic. I will certainly miss Ted. I am looking forward to the chance to meet you for lunch and just talk. You and the family are in my thoughts and prayers. I love you all more than words can say. Love Jim

I was blessed to have Ted as part of our extended family all of my life. I have so many childhood memories with Ted, Sandy and the girls. The memory that stands out the most that still makes me laugh is Ted chasing us around with the vacuum, making loud noises, making us all laugh hysterically. He was such a fun loving, carefree man who no doubt had a heart of gold. He was like a second dad to Brad and me growing up.
I know Ted is with Jesus now and I look forward to another big hug upon entering Heaven’s gate. Much love to you, Sandy, Heidi and Stacey. I love you all.

What can I say? You guys became my Disney family. I will always remember Ted's laugh that day we spent at our cruise meet wine party. I know the memories we all share are just a small part of his wonderful life. Sandy, Heidi and Stacy just know he will live on in each of you and the grandkids as well. Our hearts might be hurting now, but his love will never leave and will continue to grow. I love you all.

Aunt Sandy, Heidi and Stacey,
Sending you hugs and all my love!
Beautiful pictures of such a fun, loving and beautiful family! Wishing you strength on the tough days and comfort for the quiet days. Uncle Ted was so kind, loving, and patient. I can only imagine the patience it took to teach us all to ski 😄 . I will always cherish my childhood memories with him and our family!

There are too many memories to choose just one. All those cruises, Ted our trusty pirate put up with 4 women The bushwhackers on St Thomas and even in Littleton while playing board games when it was 5 degrees out. Rolling in the surf of Magens Bay. You were our captain, our pirate.
And the time you thought of surprising us on a cruise. Little did you know we all found out about the “surprise” before the cruise but all acted surprised when we saw you. I wanted to tell you but Sandy wouldn’t let me.
Then the time that you offered to meet with Don in the mountains when the truck gave out. Don will be forever grateful.
You will be missed more than you will ever know Pirate Ted. You were the best person I’ve known. Love you sweet man.

Sandy and I remember with great fondness our Viking trip with Ted and Sandy. We enjoyed their company and I will never remember my afternoon with Ted sitting in a local brew pub watching the river sites while waiting for our Sandys.
Sandy we are sad to hear of Ted's passing and we wish God's peace and grace

Ted was a giant of a man in all ways. He was loving and kind and was always quick with a quip to inject humor into any situation. We had many joyous evenings in Cozumel full of laughter, good food, conversation and the occasional sing-a-long (videos to remain safely tucked away😉). Fun was a guarantee.
Ted was not only a great friend but was such an amazing father and grandfather and his marriage to Sandy was one for the ages. The rest of us can only hope to aspire to achieve that level of compatibility and commitment and utter devotion Ted and Sandy had. Our hearts, broken as they may be, are with Sandy, Heidi, Stacey and the rest of the family. We love you. ❤️💔

When I think of Ted, I always see him with a smile on his face. I had the pleasure of meeting him through Stacey and his grandkids, Tyler and Joey. I loved the way his face lit up around them and what a proud grandpa he was. To your entire family, you have all always made me feel so welcome. You are all so incredibly special to me. I hope you can feel my hugs and prayers. Love you! 💜

I will always remember skiing with him. Those were some of the best times in my life. Also the golf tournaments and any excuse the family had to get together. He was always full of smiles and kindness.I will never forget his laugh (kind of like grandpas). I can’t possibly imagine your pain but I have a glimmer of joy knowing that he is not in pain and is spending time with grandma, grandpa, and Kathy. He is a very special man and he will be incredibly missed. I love you Sandy Hagen Van Horn Heidi Van Horn Murphy and Stacey Van Horn Biggs and will always be here for you no matter what. I am so lucky to be part of this family.

Ted, I cant remember a time you were not a part of my life. Kindergarten, elementary school, high school. Dinner at my parents house. Pizza anyone? Teds was better than Daddy that night!!
Ghost ghost? Stay away from the fence! Rummikibe & Mom cheating. . . Daddy had the tiles line up the next day - and paint. Changing the color to make the reds & oranges, black & blue look less alike. . .
Spoons!! Let play spoons!! Pounding on the table & laughter! Always the laughter!!
I remember one morning at the kitchen table mom talking to dad about you leaving in the middle of the night to start your plow shift. After that (and still to this day!) I cant resist looking at each snow plow & wondering if that one is yours. Of course - when Wadsworth wasn't clean. . . I may have used your name in vain. . . :-)
I dont know your house address by heart but I can get there with a blind fold on. And I know there is always a spot on the floor for me.
I will miss you, and your laughter. Love you my friend!!

We were saddened to hear that Ted is gone. It seems like just yesterday when we spent time with the both of you in Cozumel, and we will not soon forget the smile Ted always had for those he met, but especially for you. You were his happiness, the sparkle in his eye. We know he will be missed by so many. Our thoughts are with you.

My heart is broken. My captain Ted, I will never forget you my friend. Watching you sail twice a day like clock work. And even if there was no wind we'd watch you out there on the Caribbean Sea patiently waiting, just floating waiting to catch enough wind to bring you back to shore. May God always fill your sails, Captain. We will miss you deeply. We love you and your family and will always look for you out in the water.

We always remember a smile on Ted's face, especially when it comes to tea bags. Once he was willling to cram himself, Sandy, the girls and our kids in the back of our Model A and ride all the way to Louisville for a parade. I'm sure he was glad to return home and stretch his legs. Also, I will always be grateful for his help to me after the event at the store.
May you rest in peace our friend.

We will remember that Ted always had a smile on his face, especially when it came to tea bags. He was willing to climb in the back seat of our model A with Sandy, the girls and our kids and ride to Louisville and join us in a parade. I’m sure he was glad to get out and stretch his long legs by the time we returned home. He was also so helpful to me after the event at the store. I’ll always be grateful.
Rest In Peace our friend.

Ted was a very special person, as anyone who knew him could attest. To me he started as a co-worker, but grew into a mentor, friend, and a surrogate dad in many ways. I can’t say enough about Ted and his generosity. He will be missed by all that knew him and left those of us who got to share part of his life far better off. Ted, thank you for being you and you will be missed more than you know.

My best memory of him was at the campground. He would play catch with me when I was in softball and I remember I threw too hard and ended up hurting his hand, but he laughed and kept on throwing with me. I have always considered you guys my family and I will miss having conversations with him up at the campground.
Love you guys
