Thelma Louise Martin

Thelma Martin was born in Fayetteville, TN on June 18, 1923 to Hettie and Edward Lewter. She was the youngest of 3 children. They lived on a farm in Harms, TN and she attended Harms School. She was married to Billie Martin on April 12, 1941 and they made their home in Fayetteville but due to her husband’s health, they moved to Colorado in the early 1950’s. To this union 3 children were born; Millie, Dave, and Anita. She was employed by J C Penney’s, first working as a clerk in the shoe department then transferred to the Distribution Center in Aurora where she was an invoice clerk. She retired in 1987.

Preceded in death were her parents and 2 brothers, William and Hammons Lewter. Her husband died in 1968. She never remarried.

Thelma entered Heaven on October 21, 2015.

Surviving are her children, Millie Allen and husband Jim, Dave Martin and wife Helen, Anita Sage and husband Royal. Thelma had 6 grandchildren, Greg Lemon and wife Jaime, Jeff Lemon and wife Julie, April Patzer and husband Blaze, Christina VerKaik, Kristopher Sage and wife Shannon and Zachary Sage and wife Krista. She has 17 great grandchildren, Ryan, Eric, Amber, Zach, Laina, Cade, Mason, Raegyn, Parker, Easton, Coral, Vega, Clara, Naomi, Cooper, Xander and Anastasia.
