

Thomas Emmett Curran (86) passed away on Easter morning after battling several health challenges in the last year. Tom was born and enjoyed being raised in York, Nebraska to Frank and Winifred Curran. He graduated from York’s, St. Joseph’s High School and continues to hold a school’s track and field record. He was drafted to serve in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1964-1966 . He was stationed in Tokyo, Japan as part of his service. He was honorably discharged in March 1966. Tom earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Printing Management from South Dakota State University and worked over 20 years as a printer at the Colorado Department of Transportation. In his retirement, he volunteered at the Colorado History Museum, the Lebanon Silver Mine in Georgetown, and at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was preceded in death by both of his siblings, Jim Curran and Kathy Groom. He was a loyal and steadfast husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, JoAnne Curran. Tom was the proud father of his son Casner (Jeaneth Curran) and daughter Eileen Wade (Allen), as well as his two beloved grandchildren: Caleb and Raquel Curran (Isaiah).
A memorial will be held in his honor on Tuesday, April 21 at 3:00pm at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery (7777 W. 29th Ave, Wheatridge, CO 80033)
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Humane Colorado, since he was a lifelong animal lover and adopted several adored family pets from them.
