Obituary of Valerie Nadine Bordas
Valerie Nadine Bordas was born July 24, 1954, in Denver Colorado to Richard Benavidez and Cecil Glenda Stotts. She passed away peacefully on September 13, 2022, due to long-term complications from diabetes and accompanying infection. Valerie married David Bordas in 1984, who passed away in 2005. She is survived by her son, Georgefrederick Samuel Bordas. Valerie loved music, especially classic rock, like Elvis, and Louisiana jazz. She was delighted by all things sci-fi and fantasy. She was an avid reader, and movie fan, notably B-rated horror movies like the one's hosted by Elvira, and especially enjoyed all things Disney and Harry Potter. She adored John Wayne and quoted him at every opportunity. She had a fun sense of humor and a contagious smile. She was an animal lover, snakes excluded. She notably loved horses and watching them run. Valerie had a host of friends of all backgrounds and was truly no respecter of persons. She saw what mattered most as she looked on others' hearts. Valerie was a committed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a deep faith in God and even when she was unable to attend church, her love of God and desire to connect with her fellow Saints never wavered. She loved cooking and wasn't a picky eater. She especially loved fried chicken and pozole. She'd eat nearly anything, but never Menudo. A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Valerie on Saturday, Sept. 24th at 3:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 13370 Lowell Blvd, Broomfield, CO 80020. Please dress casually - specifically wearing any Denver Avalanche gear, Kentucky Derby dress, anything blue, Valerie's favorite color, or any of her mentioned favorites. Active duty, retired, or veteran attendees with military uniforms are encouraged to wear those if they wish. A light meal will be served for anyone who would like to attend.
