

Vaughn married Dayton Fredrick Scherer on June 7, 1953. She raised three children, Deborah, Mark, and David. Six years after their union, the family relocated to Denver, Colorado.
Vaughn worked for Mountain Bell for six years while attending the University of Colorado in Denver. She earned her Master's Degree and worked as a teacher before retiring.
Then, Dayton and Vaughn decided it was time to travel. They traveled to Israel, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Canada and Alaska. They also traveled most of the United States.
Vaughn's biggest hobby was botany, she loved tending to her flowers. She also had a large vegetable garden for many years.
Vaughn believed in Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Her family takes comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her husband, Dayton.
Vaughn is survived by her three children, along with eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary located at 7777 West 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO, 80033. The service is scheduled for November 14, 2025, at 10am; a reception will follow.
Vaughn will be laid to rest privately next to her husband, Dayton, at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
