June 11, 1943 – March 28, 2025
Velma “Maxine” Seyforth passed away on March 28, 2025 in Adams County, Colorado as a result of a fall in her home. Maxine was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. She spent her life sharing her love with everyone who knew her.
Maxine was born in McCook, Nebraska to William Fletcher and Margory Burton Fletcher. She was the fourth of five children and was raised on a farm in Palisade Nebraska. After graduating from high school Maxine moved to Denver Colorado and attended Barns Business School. Upon graduating, she took a job with Security Lfe as a keypunch operator.
Maxine met her future husband Paul in 1963 while working in Denver. They were married in 1966 after Paul was discharged from his military service. They lived for some time in Capital Hill, Denver. Two boys blessed their marriage: Carlton Albert born in 1969 and Clifford Daniel born in 1972. The family moved to Arvada, Colorado. Maxine suspended working to raise her boys full time.
Once Carlton and Clifford were of school age Maxine returned to the business world and worked for Inness Keypunch, Jefferson County Schools and IBM. She relocated with Paul to San Jose in 1992 where they both worked until their retirement in 2005. After retirement they returned to Colorado and lived in Thornton. Here they welcomed four grandchildren; Hunter Seyforth, Chase Seyforth, Madison Seyforth and Fletcher Seyforth. Maxine was as a doting Grandmother as she was mother of her two sons.
Maxine was a member of the United Methodist Women and The Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a devotee of Ancestory.com and was able to trace her family back to the 14th century. One of her ancestors arrived on the Mayflower.
Paul and Maxine had 58 beautiful years together, and if you include their dating, it was over 60. Paul and Maxine set an amazing example of trust, partnership, devotion, and true love; they had a marriage to admire, respect and long for.
Maxine loved to cook, shop, travel, attend bible study, spend time with her family and volunteer. Her favorite games were Mexican Train dominos, dice game Greed and she was a Canasta shark. She enjoyed her computer games too.
Maxine was admired and loved by all those that knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church 3960 E 128th Avenue Thornton, CO 80241 on Saturday, April 12th at 10:30 a.m
