Velma,
I will always remember you as a down to earth, fun loving and spontaneous Grammy. I will miss you.

I will always remember Grammy as an angel. She was always there when you needed comfort or just a hand to hold. She always had a smile on her face which always made you smile. She was happy and always showed it even in hard times. I remember that when my sisters and I went to visit her she always had beautiful little containers filled with 75 cents lined up on the counter for us. I didn't care to much for the money (maybe a little) all I wanted was the container. They were always so beautiful and Grammy liked them so I loved them. Grammy always had great taste and great style. I will miss her so much that words can never express how much I loved her. She will be missed and I can't wait to see her in Heaven when Father brings me home.

Grandma, I love that I have so many happy memories and pictures of you.  When I think of you, my heart smiles.  I love that you were such a big part of my life, and more importantly I am so thankful that my kids got to know and love you.  You were always more than a grandmother to me, you were my friend and role model.  We dealt with the deaths of our husbands together, I don't know how I would have gotten through that time in my life without you.  You always encouraged me to be better and to go after anything and everything I wanted in life.  Thank you.  Thank you for being you.  Thank you for all the love, support, and advice you gave me.  I will admire, love, cherish and remember you every day.

I have a lot of wonderful memories of Grandma and miss her so much.   My favorite memories with her was taking her to lunch, eating hamburgers at TED's,  talking about life and hearing funny stories about Mom and her sisters growing up.   Another great memory about her was how she (and grandpa) always seemed to pop up in the most unexpected times and I got to share some of the most important times in my life with her.  I got to see her at my Marine Corp Graduation in San Diego, the Marine Corps Ball in South Carolina, and a Summers Family trip to Disney Land in the 80's.  She always cared about how were doing and wanted to be involved even if we were thousands of miles away.

We miss you Velma/Mom.  We think about you whenever we walk out in the backyard.

Just wanted to let you know the Broncos won Super Bowl 50 and we're thinking of you and Papa. Love and miss you.

Grammy has made such a great impact on my life and she is a part of who I am today.  Thinking about how she's gone now is one of the hardest things to process but I know that she is in a better place.  All the memories we have shared together are unforgettable and I will be lucky to have half the personality she did.  Saying goodbye is super hard and having someone you care about so much leave is something I never would've imagined.  All of the traditions she has left in our family is something that I will always cherish and bring with us to our family events.  She will be missed very much.

Grandma was such an anchor in my life. I have enjoyed reflecting back on my memories o her during this hard time.  From the high dive, long slide and brunch buffets at Pine Hurst, to sleep overs, Broncos football, M&M Blackjack, and all the BBQs at their house and Rainbow Bread we ate. As I got older she showered me with love, support and advice. She was always the one behind the camera lens capturing my proudest moments and cheering me on in Track and Cross Country. She gave me one of the most direct, honest and best pieces of advice when I decided I wanted to get into real estate, which help shape where I am today. Even in her later years, she still brought me happiness. I once found her walking the halls of Allison, as she would do, and when I said Hi Grandma, she looked up and I could see in her eyes as she looked at me, smiled and said Well Hi, back that she truly recognized me. And in that shared moment I was able to see my Grandma again. Grandma, Thank you so much for everything. I love you.

Myself, Velma and two other ladies would play golf together and have such a good time at the Foothills Par 3 course.  Velma was a great and dear lady, I remember her fondly and want to express my deepest condolences to her family.  Donna McClelen

Loosing someone can be a hard obstacle to get through.  Having someone so amazing in your life be taken away is heartbreaking, but the reassurance that someone I love has joined an amazing new life has gotten me though it all.  I will always have moments of sadness for the wonderful Grammy I have lost, but will always hold her close to my heart because she has impacted me so much.  Until we meet again...

We are sorry to lose Velma, for she was a member of our extended family, being our sister-in-law's mother.  We remember Velma as such a vibrant, smiling woman, frequently with a camera in her hand at family events, ever cheerful, and attractively put together.  Her daughter, our sister-in-law, carries on those traits and traditions, so that Velma will live on in our memories and in the presence of her daughter. Precious memories of Velma and Dick, helping make family times special for the Legaults and us as their Lunnon neighbors.  A truly grand couple, generous with their time and good humor.
