Virginia Ruth Boyd was born on March 18, 1945 in Gilmer, Texas to the parents of Richard Charles Williams and Viola Hollin. She was affectionately known to many of us as “Mom”, “Grandma”, “Ruth”, “Aunt Ruth”, “Virg” and “Sister Virginia”.
Virginia was a very spiritual woman that loved the Lord and her family. She was a kind-hearted person that loved helping those that were in need. She would wake up early every morning to offer prayer via the prayer line. She was a very generous person, as she would often open her home to her family when they needed a place to live and provide counsel to them when they were troubled and needed someone to talk to.
In her younger days, she loved playing pool and liked to dance, and it’s been said that she was very “light on her feet”.
Virginia was a good cook and could make a great sweet potato pie and fry a “mean” pork chop! She loved playing cards especially Spades, Tunk and Bid Whist and was also a pretty good domino player.
Virginia was a pillar of strength for her family and will always be remembered for her kindness.
Virginia is survived by Children: Yolanda Dorsey, Lavarace Morris (Kelly), Ron J. Boyd (Mona), 7 Grandchildren, & 7 Great-Grandchildren.
Virginia is preceded in death by her daughter, Channon Hubert.
