Virginia Ruth Crawford

Virginia Crawford passed away peacefully at the age of 90, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, unconditional love, and joyful laughter. Born on September 2, 1935, Virginia lived a life centered on God, family, and caring for others.

After graduating from Deshler High School, Virginia moved to Denver, Colorado, where she made her home for the rest of her life. She devoted herself to raising her children as a stay-at-home mother until they were in high school. She later worked in the business office at St. Joseph's Hospital, where she faithfully served for many years.

Virginia's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. She looked forward to visits from her pastor, cherishing both the laughter they shared and the time spent receiving communion together. She had a joyful spirit and a zest for life that was reflected in her warm smile, her sense of humor, and the joy she found in even the simplest moments.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures—playing golf, gathering around the card table with family and friends, traveling and filling her home with the aroma of homemade meals. She was known for her delicious tuna and noodles, homemade bread, and peach pie, and she never turned down a bowl of ice cream. One of her greatest joys was talking with her family, especially the daily phone calls she shared with her granddaughter, which became a treasured part of each day.

Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Crawford.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Brad (Pam) Crawford and Debbie (Bill) Staiger; her grandchildren, Zach, John, Amber, and Taylor; and her two great-grandchildren. Her love, faith, gentle spirit, and joyful presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on July 9 at Fairmount Cemetery.
