Vivienne went to be with Jesus Wednesday evening August 8, after 100 + years of warm, loving, productive, giving years. She was married to Patrick Lewis Ryan who preceded her in death by 19 years. She is survived by her son, Pat, her daughter, Jean and their spouses; four grandchildren, their spouses; 9 great grandchildren, and lived to see the first great grandson get married. She loved her family…all 21 of them… and family time meant a party and good times together. Gathering for Bronco games was always an event with her big TV. And we still hear her chants, “Intercept, intercept!” regardless of who had the ball! It was important to keep the family together and establishing family relationships was a priority.
She had many friends and everyone loved her and her sweet smile! Vivienne loved to be a helper. She always had a window full of African Violets that she propagated to give away at the Ft. Logan gift shop where she volunteered weekly. She loved supporting her growing children and volunteered as their Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader. She was employed by the state of Colorado as Governor Steve McNichol’s secretary and receptionist from 1957-1963 and had excellent secretary skills. She made the family proud! She loved handwork, ceramics, crocheting, jewelry and making crafts. She was talented in so many ways, using those talents to make gifts for many people.
Vivienne was passionate about playing bridge and she was good. There was a regular weekly bridge date with Jean and her family up until 5 days before she passed away. She loved to dance and its fun to think of the possibility that she could be dancing in heaven with her late husband Pat.
Vivienne lived her life never looking back. She was always so positive in her circumstances, and chose to look forward and make the best of every day. The message she put on her phone, “It’s a beautiful day, and I hope yours is too!” reflected her attitude in life. We’ll miss you Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma! Thank you for giving us life and for your relentless cementing of our family. We miss you and look forward to the day that we will be reunited in Heaven!
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Shriner's Children’s hospital in Denver, Suncrest Hospice in Greenwood village, or Hillcrest Christian Reformed Church.
