Walter Eugene Nelson

Walter was born to Walter and Ruth Nelson on September 5, 1938, in Little Falls, MN, where he graduated high school. Shortly after high school he served in the reserves for five years. Walter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.

Walter is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Nelson; his children David Nelson (Jeanette), Jon Nelson (Corene), and Lori Greenmyer (Steven); his grandchildren, Brian, Derek, Courtney, Kyle, Alisa, and Matthew; his great grandchildren, Alex, David, and Dante; and his brothers, Gerald and Duwayne Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Walter Nelson and brothers Jim, Jerome, Don, and Gary Nelson.

Walter moved to Colorado with his family in 1986. Walter had a passion for fishing, old westerns, puzzles, Oreos, and coffee. Walter was always there to lend a helping hand, whether it was helping with a broken-down vehicle or helping strangers out who were stuck in the snow. Walter was dearly loved by his family; he brought joy and laughter to the lives around him and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A private family service will be held on the 15th of January at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery.
