Wanda Lou Hancock 85, passed away gently on June 20, 2019 in Englewood, Colorado. Wanda was born on February 4, 1934 in Salina, Kansas to Glen and Della Swanson. She married Samuel Hancock Jr. in 1957, and together they had 6 children Linda, Max, Michael, Lori, Diantha, and Samuel. Wanda worked for Denver Public Schools in food service for 30 years.
Her family described her as caring, feisty, honest, and straight forward. Wanda loved having her family around and they were always at her house for Christmas Eve. She also paid special attention to the needy during the holidays. She loved to garden and enjoy her yard, but also liked to get out for rides to Walmart and Sam's Club. When at home she loved to play cards, especially Rummy, did her word searches, and watch TV shows on the Game Network. She also enjoyed Pickers and all the house flipping shows to get ideas. Wanda loved to cook and passed on her recipes and cooking ideas to anyone that wanted to learn, but Sydney retained most of the good ones for the family. She crocheted, swam, played Bingo and traveled. She was a great bargain shopper, movie marathon watcher, Elvis fan, "Return to Sender" and "All Shook Up", foot rub by Justine enthusiast, and lets not forget her sweet tooth for ice cream and cookies, even though she wasn't supposed to eat those. Wanda would go downtown with Justine and marvel at all the new development then she would explain how it was in her day when she was growing up.
She is survived by her children Max (Paula) Hancock, Michael (Elaine) Hancock, Lori (Roger) Romero, Diantha (Glen) Truillo, and Samuel (Justine) Hancock. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Della, her loving husband Samuel, and her daughter Linda.
There will not be a day where Wanda is not missed by her family and friends and she will always be loved and never forgotten.
