William Alexander Maxwell passed away in Denver Colorado on Sunday March 22, 2026, with the love of his life, Carrie, by his side. Alex was born on September 14, 1960 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, returning with his family to the United States in 1961, and spent most of his life in Colorado and New Mexico, including his time at the University of New Mexico where he studied anthropology.
He was proceeded in death by his father Charles Henry Maxwell (2000), mother Jacqueline S. Perkinson Maxwell (1999), and sister Florence A. Maxwell (1999).
He is survived by his partner Carrie Powell Maxwell, sister Patricia, children Alex, Sean, Desi, Heather, and Katie, and grandchildren Leilani, Brian, Harlem, Caesi, Frankie, Penelope, Harper, and 2 additional grandsons.
Alex will be remembered by his friends and family for his sense of humor and love of the outdoors.
Service arrangements are pending and will be shared by the family at a later date.
