He was always kind to me and was a wealth of knowledge for our club. He will be missed by us and I am certain that the angles will be heralding his arrival.

I have been blessed by knowing Andy through MMS. What a wonderful and gentle man. A true gentleman! He was so caring, warm, and always ready with a hug and kiss. My heart goes out to Patricia. Andy's passing hurts all of us who have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Patricia, and the rest of your families.

Andy was never one to hold back his great hugs whenever he saw you...these will be missed. He was such a nice person, great smile and laugh even if he was not feeling his best.

It's hard to choose one particular memory, but one I think of as demonstrating the kind of person he was comes from my early childhood. Apparently, I wasn't much of a tooth brusher, because Grandpa sat me down to explain the importance of caring for my teeth. I don't remember exactly what he said, but I do remember how simultaneously serious and kind he was, as well as how knowledgeable. I'd always had a great deal of respect for him, so I took up the habit, more to make him feel better than because I was worried about gum disease! It seems to me that Grandpa always knew something about everything, whether it was rock hunting or robotics or music. And he was always honest: he knew that a small hurt now is better than a big hurt in the long run. I knew he was sincere because he was always sincere and never did anything halfway, and anyone who got a laugh or a hug from him can attest to that! There are so many things to admire and miss about Grandpa, and his heartfelt advice is maybe what I'll miss the most.

I'm lost at words, my prayers are with the family and friends. He was the most amazing man ever! He always had a smile on his face and made everyone laugh. He would tell me all the times I made him and pat laugh, when he was in the hospital he told me when I delivered his food that when I was little I would walk around the house with my cowboy boots on the wrong feet, and the time I ate there dogs dog food under the table.. you will be greatly missed I love you so much ! I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye!

I am so grateful to have met Andy through the Michigan Mineralogical Society.  He was one of the warmest, friendliest, and most thoughtful people in the club and always wore a smile. My heart goes out to Patty and I know she's grieving the huge void that Andy's passing has left behind. My deepest condolences to her and her family.

I am so grateful to Pat & my niece Sharon for their interest in genealogy.  Through them Andy and I discovered we were 1st cousins.  We were totally unaware of each other's existence until that special day in 2013.  Andy and Pat came to California that summer and we had an amazing visit.  I filled him in on his "stateside" cousins & he passed on so much information about my Venezuelan relatives that I have never met.

Pat & I will stay in touch, & maybe " that visit"  Andy and I spoke of is in our future?  I, too, will miss him.  Even though he was in my life for such a short time, I have such good memories.

We always enjoyed seeing Andy & Pat at our rock club events. They would give you a huge hug, call you by name, and enfold you with their smile. 

Andy volunteered to continue his board member position for an extended period of time so we had a full slate. He had concerns about his health but said he'd do his best, and he did all the way, a great job. 

He was always one to help out when he saw a need. We will remember him with his smile and his loving nature.  He shall be missed.

We were members of the Oakland County Earth Science Club together and we could always count on Andy to lift our spirits with his big beautiful smile which he shared with everyone.  Add to that his great hug and Santa Claus laugh and we couldn't help felling great.  We are going to miss him a lot and hope we continue to see Pat who is very special to us as well as Andy was.  Her talk on how she bought this huge quartz crystal in AZ still makes me smile.  Our love and thoughts to you, Mike and Pam Brady
