Beloved husband of Terry for over 57 years. Loving father of Brian (Pam) Schmitt, Christina (Tim) Whitten and Sandra (Terry) Kott. Proud grandfather of Jessica, Ryan, Jacob, Adam and Brendan.
Carl was born on November 22, 1936 to Louis and Martha (nee Rondini) Schmitt in Dearborn, Michigan. He was a US Army Veteran and retired as Manager of Data Systems from CSX Railroad after nearly 40 years of dedicated service. He was a longtime member of St. Patrick Parish in White Lake where he was active with the Knights of Columbus, the Men's Club, the Annual Fair Committee and Meals on Wheels.
Among his many hobbies, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, morel mushroom hunting, cooking, traveling, camping and collecting baseball cards. He also was an avid black powder enthusiast and member of Alan P. Goodrich Shooting Range in Alma, Michigan.
A Funeral Mass followed by Military Honors will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 14, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9086 Hutchins in White Lake. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 3:30pm until 8:00pm at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road in White Lake and Monday at church from 10:00am until the time of the mass at 11:00am. There will be a Knights of Columbus service at the funeral home Sunday evening at 6:00pm.
