Charles Ray Brewer

Charles Ray Brewer, age 81, of White Lake, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in Commerce Township. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Rosemarie; his three children: Glenn Schuler, Steven (Rhonda) Felts, and Scott (Doreen Zuznis) Brewer; his three grandchildren: Ayla, Glenn, Jr., and Samantha; his four great-grandchildren: Lily, Isabella, Abel, and Jericho; his two brothers: Kenneth Brewer, and Glenn Thomas Brewer; and his two sisters: Mary Lynn, and Patricia Ann.

Charles was born January 13, 1940, in Paris, Tennessee, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Glynn and Ethel (Burnett) Brewer. He met Rosemarie LaForge when they worked together at Sears, and it was love at first sight! Charles and Rosemarie started dating, fell in love, and were married on April 22, 1971. They shared fifty wonderful years together. Throughout his life, Charles worked in the security department at General Motors, and then eventually went on to work on the assembly line, retiring in 2000 to spend time with his family. Charles was a member of the congregation at Oxbow Lake Baptist Church in White Lake for many years.

In his free time, Charles could always be found outdoors; and he had a great passion for both hunting and fishing. He held fond memories of his moose hunting trips to Newfoundland. He also loved woodworking, and greatly enjoyed spending time with his loving family and close friends. He was a remarkable man who will be greatly missed.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Glynn and Ethel; his son, Stanley Brewer, and his brother, Jimmy Brewer.

A funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake, Michigan 48386. Charles' family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Pastor Chris Todd will officiate A burial will take place on at 12:30 pm on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan 48442.

I remember a boat ride on Lake Lee Ann at Ed and Nancy's home in Jerome,Michigan. Chuck and I had a great time that day. It was so nice of Ray to invite us on the boat ride.He was very kind, soft spoken and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed.
