

Charles Stanton McCrory; age 75; of West Bloomfield, Michigan passed away peacefully at home on February 11, 2026 surrounded by family after a three-year hard-fought battle against liver disease and prostate cancer. Known to friends and family as “Chuck” or “Stan”, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Chuck was born on July 31, 1950, to Charles and Ernestine McCrory in Detroit, Michigan. In 1973 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in Mathematics. In 1979 he earned a Master of Arts degree from Central Michigan University. His professional life was dedicated to nearly 50 years working in the auto industry. He was employed by Ford Motor Company, Chrysler and later started McCrory and Associates LLC. He was extremely knowledgeable about automotive powertrain systems and enjoyed sharing this expertise with those around him. His career took him traveling to many places and gave him a deep appreciation for different cultures and experiences; however, he always found his greatest joy in returning home to his family.
While attending MSU he was on the Fencing team as an Epee fencer. After graduating he taught fencing at Macomb Community College and was an assistant coach at the University of Windsor. He belonged to the Oakland University and Wayne State University Fencing clubs and was the armor for the Michigan Fencing Division for five years. In 1985, he founded Heidelberg Fencing Equipment Inc. and sought to establish the first manufacturing company for fencing equipment in the western hemisphere.
He had a wide range of interests that made him truly one of a kind. Chuck embraced the things he loved with enthusiasm and joy. After retiring he enjoyed spending time with his family, loved working on his house and yard (especially his koi pond), cooking, hunting and listening to Celtic music.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Joyce, of 53 years; his daughter, Andrea (Tim) Makar, son, Jay (Amy) McCrory; son, Scott (Darlene) McCrory. His grandchildren Audrey and Charlie Makar and Evelyn and Morgan McCrory. His brother Jeff McCrory and his sister, Cathy Gilespy.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 20, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 9086 Hutchins Rd., White Lake, MI 48386. The family will greet visitor's at the chuch from 10:00 am until the time of service.
