She is survived by her husband, James Dunnigan; her loving children, Samantha, Jared, and Chelsea (Kam); and her cherished grandchildren, Alessa and Henry. She is also survived by her siblings, Giovanna (Shane), Tony, and Carrie; and her two nieces Jordan and Amanda.
Dana was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Kathleen Lacascio, and her beloved granddaughter, Alina Marie.
For 17 years, Dana was a familiar and beloved face at Shenandoah Country Club in West Bloomfield, where she built lasting friendships and touched countless lives. To those who knew her, she was so much more than a coworker. She was a friend, a familiar smile, and someone whose presence will be deeply missed.
Dana found happiness in life’s beautiful moments, especially spending time at the beach, traveling, making memories with friends, and being surrounded by the people she loved most. Above all, her family was her world. Being a mother and grandmother brought her immeasurable joy, and the love she had for her children and grandchildren will live on through them.
Throughout her long battle with cancer, Dana demonstrated extraordinary strength and determination. Even through the most difficult moments, she continued to think of and care for those around her. Her illness was a part of her story, but it never defined the remarkable woman she was.
Dana leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a family who will love and miss her beyond words, and a legacy of strength and love that will never be forgotten.
In keeping with Dana’s wishes, there will be no traditional funeral or visitation. Instead, her family will honor her life with a beautiful Celebration of Life, bringing together the people she loved to share memories, laughter, and stories of a life that meant so much to so many.
Details regarding her Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
