March 9, 1940May 16, 2020

Dennis J. Bagley, of Commerce Township, passed away on May 16, 2020. Beloved Husband of Jacquelyn (Jackie). Loving Father of Michael (Natalie), Christopher (Corinne) and Darren. Treasured Papa of Kristen, Alec, Samantha and Nick. Dear Brother of the late Mary (Glenn) Hershey, Sister Patricia Bagley, Margaret (the late Duane) Bourlier, Barbara (Bob) Miller, Kathy (the late Fred) Martin; and Brother-in-law of David (Kimberlee) Belli. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, and numerous other family and friends. Dennis was preceded in passing by his parents, Harold and Mary Bagley; and his parents-in-law, Jack and Josephine Bell.

Dennis attended High School and College at Sacred Heart Seminary where he obtained degrees in Philosophy and English. He then attended St. John's Major Seminary and was active in the Priesthood for 12 years. Dennis received his Masters in Business Administration and attended Wayne State University where he received his Law degree. Dennis practiced law in Oakland County for 37 years.

Dennis loved traveling with Jackie, family and friends but especially enjoyed summer trips to Chicago with their grandchildren. He enjoyed playing cards with his long time friends. Lord, Dan & I thank you for the life and ministry of Dennis. He was the first lector to welcome me at St. Mary’s and did so very warmly. He and Jackie always had a smile, hello and kind word, whenever we saw them at Mass. I particularly loved lectoring with him and listening to his beautiful readings of the Word. He was a model to follow and a friend I will miss very much.
With love, empathy and sympathy to you, Jackie, and your family.

We knew Dennis and Jackie for a few years from our church in West Bloomfield before they joined our card group. We had many wonderful years of getting together with them monthly for cards and dinner. We had a lot of fun traveling with them to many places, especially Hawaii and China. We have wonderful memories of all this. Dennis, you were a great friend. We will greatly miss you. Jackie, our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

Dennis may you rest in eternal peace. Dennis and I were classmates at St John’s Seminary. Dennis was a friend and colleague. He was always a delight to be around. Great sense of humor and a quick wit.
My prayers for his wife and family. I treasure my last time spent with him 5 years ago. Dennis you greatly and positively affected people both as a priest and attorney. Thanks for being part of our life.

I knew Dennis Bagley as "Father" Bagley, along with hundreds of other children at St Bede, located until recent demolition, at Southfield and 12 Mile Roads in Southfield. He was a very good priest and a nice man, well liked by all the students. We were sorry to see him leave the priesthood. But it appears he went on to do good things for children in his career as a lawyer. Sleep well Fr. Bagley.

Rest In Peace dear friend.
Ron and I had the pleasure and the honor to have you as a close friend for greater than 35 years. You were always a gentleman.
Maybe you and Ron can play a game of pinochle in heaven and reminisce about the memories we made with you and Jackie.
Will surely miss you.

I would see him at the court often, always smiling. Your reaction would be to smile in return. His Godly presence was welcomed.
All my love and prayers

My wife (Jane Kassin) and I were married by father Bagley in 1971. Jane’s family was a member of the St Bede Parrish. As a non catholic I had several sessions with father Bagley before we were married. I remember him as a kind, caring and very wonderful man.
