Eileen and Family, Maureen and I were stuned by the loss of my longest and best friend. Don and I met on the local bus one day on the way home from grammar school:Don from Good Sheppard and I was on my way home from St. Sebastian's. He was a real character, cracking jokes and kiddding the bus driver. I always looked forward to riding that bus each day. We then both attended St. Monica's High School where we became very close friends and confidants. Playing pick-up basketball after School and both of us singing in the School Choir and Glee Club. We had many of the same friends and used to double date on many occasions. Don never lost his sense of humor and would keep our antics confidential., thank God!
When I married Maureen (my wife of 56 years), Don was in the Army but , made an heroic effort to attend our wedding by joining an Army convoy going south. Unfortunately, the convoy had a whole bunch of problems geting from Fort Ord to Los Angeles and Don arrived after the Church service but, made the reception a little late.
During my College years, Don bailed me out of a sticky situation when he designed a Special Cover for the Student School Directory that I was charged with publishing. The cover design is something that Santa Clara University has used in different forms since that time.
After Don and You (Eileen) married and moved to Michigan we only communicated by mail but, retained our friendship. One of my regrets in life is that we never got the opportunity to visit you two and your Family in Michigan. We all lived a very busy life and had to make ends meet. It was very special to visit with you two at our 50th High School reunion. I will never forget singing "That's Amore" with Don at that Italian restaurant in Venice . Just like in High School.
Don was a very special person in my life and I will never forget him. I take some comfort in knowing that a good man like Don with the love he had for his family is resting in peace with Christ.

I remember working with Don over 45 years ago as tech illustrators at Autodynamics. His sense of humor is something to remember. He left a smile in our hearts.

HI EILEEN
IT WAS A PRIVILEGE KNOWING AND
WORKING WITH DON. HIS SENSE OF
HUMOR COULD NEVER BE FORGOTTEN
BY ANYONE WHO KNEW HIM. HE WAS
((THE CAPTAIN ))WHEN IT CAME TO SEAFOOD. HE WAS A GOOD PERSON
TO WORK WITH AND I AM SURE HE WILL
BE MISSED BY MANY. I WILL (NEVER )FORGET
SOME OF THE THINGS HE TOLD ME.
HOWEVER TAKE COMFORT IN THE FACT
YOU WILL SEE HIM AGAIN AND HE WILL
BE LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU.
I AM SURE ITS GOING TO BE HARD BUT YOU
HAVE COUNTLESS MEMORIES TO GET YOU
AND US BY ON.
