Beloved wife of the late Russell R. Christensen. Loving mother to Alan (Alicia) Christensen and Sandra (Timothy) Angelos. Proud Grammy of Eric, Evan, Lauren and Tyler.
Dorothy was an incredible wife and mother who devoted her energy to her husband and raising her children with love, strength, laughter and sensitivity. Later in life she continued that devotion by returning to school at age 50 to reenter the employment world with an Associates Degree in Applied Science, graduating Suma Cum Laude.
She was a beautiful soul of many talents, including her musical skills on the accordion and piano. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, flower arranging, ceramics, basket weaving and many hand made ornaments from cross stitch to painted glass which she passed to friends and family each year at Christmas. Her passions included a deep love of music, her beautiful irises, ice skating, reading and of course chocolate.
She will be remembered by many whom she greeted on her miles of walks and at her door with a bear hug and cookies. Be it friends of 65 years, new neighbors or a casual person in a store, her heart was always in search of ways to bring that person a smile or a laugh.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road in White Lake. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Interment at Commerce Memorial Cemetery.
