Dorothy E. Costello, age 100, of West Bloomfield, passed away September 24, 2014 in Commerce Twp., Michigan. She was born in Atchison, Kansas to Sam Riley and Lorena Sandifer. Dorothy worked as a news reporter for the Atchison Globe. She enjoyed sewing, writing poems and using her computer for skype to keep in touch with her large family and also to play solitaire. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip Robert Costell; loving mother of Ann (Robert) Kelly, James Costello, Phyllis (Kevin) Curtin, Carol (Michael) Walter, Peter (Kelly) Costello, Thomas (Anne) Costello and B. Patrick Costello and the late Kathryn Krisher; proud grandmother of 24 and great- grandmother of 15. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. (In State at 10:00 a.m.) on Monday, September 29, 2014 at St. Patrick Church, 9086 Hutchins Rd., White Lake. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Scripture Service at 6:00 p.m.) at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Rd., White Lake, Michigan. Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.
