

Elizabeth Warszawski Zagurny, age 84 of White Lake, passed away December 14, 2010. To rest, at last. Eternally married to and now reunited, after 30 years of being separated, with her late husband Stefan A. Zagurny. We know dad was waiting to greet you at Heavens Gate. Loving mother of Tony (Geri)Zagurny, David (Debbie) Zagurny, Nancy (Doug) Phillips, Steve Zagurny and Mary(Keith) Ricksgers. Babcia (grandmother) to Stefan, Craig, Andrew, Bradley, Scott, Sam, Stacie, Jason and Jessica. Graduate of Chadsey High then Wayne State University ('49) with a Masters in Art. Worked for Detroit Dept. of Parks and Rec 47-53, Detroit Public Schools 55-64 and Waterford Schools 65-66. Taught 6th grade at St. Patrick School in White Lake, Michigan for dozens of years and hundreds of students. Deeply devoted to her Catholic faith, Elizabeth was very involved in the St. Patrick community. Her artwork adorned many years of Easter candles and decades of the parish Christmas cards were of her loving designs. She loved to sing in the church choir and Sweet Adelines. Her favorite painting of Jesus was one in which he is laughing. After years of suffering the pains of dementia, she entered the loving embrace of laughing Jesus. The funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 at St. Patrick Church, 9086 Hutchins Rd., White Lake. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black and Son funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Rd., White Lake. Mrs. Zagurny will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday. Interment will be in all Saints Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
