George Apple

George Apple, age 68, of Novi, died Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Ascension Providence Hospital in Novi. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Kathleen (Laura Lilli) Lucas; his two nieces: Kim (John) Hoffmeyer, and Kristy Lucas; his nephew, Jason Lucas; his two great nephews: Brady Hoffmeyer, and Lucas Hoffmeyer; his great niece, Emma Hoffmeyer; his loving partner of thirty years, Teri Griffin; and his special friend, Dave.

George was born November 24, 1952, in Dearborn, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Harold and Catherine (Olenick) Apple. George worked as a salesman for Resurrection Cemetery for many years, and spent a number of years breeding and racing horses. He had fond memories of his racehorse, Savannah George. In his free time, George enjoyed going to the horse track, spending time with his friend Dave, and traveling around the south collecting Civil War memorabilia. He was a wonderful man who will be missed by many.

Sadly, George was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Catherine; his sister, Madeline (Debbie Waslesky) Apple; his brother-in-law, James Lucas; and his great nephew, Danny Lucas.

In accordance with George’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No public services have been scheduled at this time.
