

Jerry was born on January 13, 1929, in Saginaw, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Martin and Alexandria (Dukarski) Slominski. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University with the class of 1950, receiving a degree in history, business administration, and economics. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He served in Washington D.C. and Army Headquarters in Korea throughout his time in the service. In 1953, he married Marie Pietrzak, and they shared 68 wonderful years together. Jerry spent his 42-year working career in various management positions and locations at General Motors. After his retirement, Jerry enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Cross Village, Michigan.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marie; their children and their spouses: Marilyn (Raymond) Slominski-Shapiro of Manhattan Beach, CA and Susan (Stephen) Bernys-Gray of West Bloomfield, MI; his grandchildren: Bryan (Megan) Bernys of Sterling, VA and Britney (Lucas) Drake of Commerce Township, MI; and his great-grandchildren: Brady, Zoey, Austin, and Scarlett. He will be missed by many relatives and friends.
Memorial Mass will be held Friday, May 6, 2022 at 10:30am at St. Rita Catholic Church, 309 E. Maple Street, Holly. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held Friday, May 6, 2022 at 12:30pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, Capuchin Mission Association, or a charity of your choice.
