Harold Paul Cromes, age 95, of Commerce Twp, Michigan passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025. Harold was born in Pontiac, Michigan to Harold and Mary Cromes. He was an active member, usher and counter of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Walled Lake, Michigan. Harold was a proud Army Veteran. He retired from General Motors after 37 years of service. He was a volunteer firefighter for Commerce Township Fire Department for 37 years. He volunteered at Huron Valley Hospital for 15 years. Harold enjoyed woodworking, wood carving and needlework. .
Harold is survived by his wife of 70 years, Patricia “Pat” Cromes; his daughter, Janah (Lee) Aldrich; his son-in-law, James Witkowski; his grandchildren, Andrew (Kate) Aldrich, April (Derrick) Johnson, Emerick Witkowski, Khara Witkowski, Taylor (Mark) Pruitt and Elisabeth Witkowski; seven great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Diana (Geoffrey) Wilson; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Ann Witkowski.
The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. (In state at 10:00 a.m.) on Saturday,
January 18, 2025 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2040 S. Commerce Road, Walled Lake, Michigan. 48390. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake, Michigan 48386. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church or to Open Arms Hospice.
