

Janet Ann Jaffray, age 88, of Stanwood, Michigan, passed away on November 3, 2025. Jan was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 23, 1937, She lived and worked in the Metropolitan area her whole life.
While raising six children, Jan attended Macomb Community College and worked in market research as an independent contractor. Upon the death of her husband, she entered the world of politics, joining the original staff of Congressman David Bonior in 1979. Jan became Director of Constituent Relations for Senator Carl Levin when he took office in 1981 and remained with him until her retirement. During her congressional tenure, Jan specialized in immigration and State Department issues that resulted in the working relationship with the International Institute.
Jan also assumed the role of Director of Public Relations for Capital Investment Group. She served on various boards including Judson Center Development Board and "All the World's A Stage"
Jan enjoyed problem solving, the study of Eastern philosophy, classical music, ethnic cuisine and reading.
Beloved wife of the late Gerald James Jaffray, loving mother of John Jaffray, Julie (Gene) Guizzetti, William (Deborah) Jaffray, Patricia (Gregory) Martinez, Nancy (Jeffrey) Roth and Jerry Jaffray; Grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 8. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time.
