Janet Robertson (Vought),age 68 of Oakdale, CA, formerly of Commerce Township; passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Donald (Skip) Robertson; mother to Connie Mortensen of California; step-mother to Todd Robertson of Oklahoma; beloved grandmother to Michael Robertson of Oklahoma and Katie Mortensen of California; sister of Jeannie (Ed) Sizemore and Jack (Cory) Vought of Florida, and to Carrie (MJ) Boomer and Jerry Vought of Michigan. Jan was born December 8, 1942 in Pontiac, the daughter of Max and Bernice Vought. Soon after graduating from Pontiac Central she met and fell in love with Skip and they went on to spend 46 happily married years together. Jan was blessed with a close-knit family and many amazing friends that she remained devoted to throughout her many moves in Michigan, Ohio, California and Tennessee. She had a passion for gardening, reality tv, music, a good cup of tea, and later in life, the Detroit Red Wings. Her enthusiasm during games was contagious and a great source of enjoyment for all around her. Her greatest joy though was her husband, children and grandchildren and her role in their lives. Her impact on those she knew was widespread and she will be missed tremendously. We give thanks to God for blessing all of us with such a wonderful lady.
A Celebration of Jan's life, led by Jan's brother-in-law MJ Boomer, will be held at 10am Saturday, July 14th at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black Funeral Home 1233 Union Lk Rd. White Lake with luncheon to follow.
