Javier Sandoval, age 67, of Milan, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. Left to cherish his memory are his two sons: Mark Sandoval, and Andrew (Kara) Sandoval; his grandson, Gray Sandoval; his two sisters, Diana(Leszek) Jaszczak, and Marta (Tim) Lenane; and many loving nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Javier was born January 26, 1955, in Union Lake, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Martin and Stella (Garcia) Sandoval. Javier began his career with Ford Motor Company at the age of 18, growing with the company where he graduated with a degree in engineering from Wayne State University. Javier had a successful automotive engineering career that spanned his entire professional life. He retired in 2020. In his free time, Javier could always be found tinkering with cars in the garage, going for motorcycle rides, or playing with his grandson Gray. Some of his fondest memories were made on his trips to Sturgis with his Harley friends, visiting family on both coasts, and skydiving just to say he’d done it. He was a remarkable man who will be greatly missed.
Javier was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Stella.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider contributions in Javier’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
In accordance with Javier’s wishes, cremation will take place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake, Michigan 48386. Javier’s family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm, and again on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Javier will be interred at All Saints Cemetery in Waterford at a later date.
