

Born on January 22, 1933, in Bennington, Michigan, Joann most recently lived in Goodrich, Michigan. On July 23, 1952 she wed Rex Woodworth of Keego Harbor, Michigan, with whom she shared 36 loving years. In 1964, when computers were just beginning to transform American business, Joann began her career as a data processor at Pontiac Motors. She continued her career in information systems management at General Motors Corporation and later Electronic Data Systems (EDS).
Joann was preceded in death by her beloved husband Rex, whose letters from his Navy days she carefully preserved. She was also preceded in death by her sister Loretta Reese of Phoenix, Arizona, with whom she had a close and cherished relationship.
Joann is survived by her children Cheryl and James Bow of Waterford, Michigan; Linda Sulla of Haskett, Michigan; Ronald Woodworth and Stella Gonzales of Crossville, Tennessee; and Janet and Ronald Reynolds of Denver, Colorado. Also surviving are her brothers Arthur Kline of San Antonio, Texas; and Dale and Mary Lou Kline of Mount Pleasant, Michigan. She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many extended family members and dear friends who all will cherish her memory.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Clermont Park in Denver, Colorado, for the exceptional care, kindness, and dignity they provided to Joann during her time there; and also to the dedicated hospice care team of Compassus.
A celebration of Joann’s life will be held at Elton Black and Sons, located at 1233 Union Lake Road in White Lake, Michigan, on August 8, 2026, at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, 43300 Twelve Mile Road, Novi, Michigan, where she will be laid to rest beside her cherished husband Rex.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Michigan in Joann’s memory.
