Mary, sorry to learn of your brother's passing today. Our condolences to you and your family.

Jack Barry...one of those special people that wander into our lives from somewhere and captivate us in some way. He would appear in my path from time to time often separated by years...always a good word, always a smile, always a "God Bless."  It was a privilege to know Jack the way I did.  Our world can use more Jacks.  Rest in peace my brother, I know you are with God.

Jack's passing on was certainly a big shock. We had just talked a couple of days before. Jack was a fellow musician friend of mine. He was a good guy and an amazing guitarist. In past few years since we met, we had a lot of great jams and fun at various parties and places. God bless your soul, my dear friend, and as he always said, "God love ya"!

 Whenever I saw Jack at church or walking down Dixie highway or riding his bike I thought of Christ.   Jack was very Christlike. I will miss seeing him at church and walking down Dixie highway . My  memory of  Jack go back 30 some years in Clarkston. I remember him playing his guitar in restaurants and discussing him teaching The guitar to my children.   I still feel his presence when I go to church or drive by the sidewalks on Dixie . He will be very missed .  I know he is in heaven enjoying his heavenly rewards.

We lost an amazing man today. My Uncle Jack was intelligent, kind, and incredibly welcoming. The kind of person you could talk to for hours about life, death, and the meaning of it all. I wish that I could be with my family right now but if there's one characteristic that defines the Barry's, its that they stick together during the tough times. 

Uncle Jack is up there serenading Grandma and Grandpa now (probably with the Beatles), and I'm sure he wouldn't have it any other way.

it's never easy to say goodbye to family, but in this case I rest easier knowing my Uncle John is in a better place. Being one of the most spiritual people I have ever met, I know with confidence that he is with God and my Grandma. Though my family is going through a tough time, the Barry's always get through it together.

he loved his family....devoted to his mother. loved the arts esp his music. encouraged it in others. kind of funny but he made the world a little better with his smile and a joke or two.

Today the world lost one of the best people I've ever known, and one of my best friends for the last 12 years. He was 40 years my senior, a devout Catholic and a skilled classical guitarist (an Irishman with a flair for flamenco!), I a tone-deaf atheist. He was a former friar, I was expelled from Catholic school. He drank cheap beer and I craft cocktails and Cabernet. He didn't have much but he would give you the shirt off his back. He saw me through college and getting married and having a baby. He invited me to his family reunion! His brother was my Highschool English teacher and my uncle was in his top 5 favorite priests within the Archdiocese of Detroit (a more competitive list than it seems). He was always around to help out, always enthusiastic to work around the house, play music at parties... Jack played the music when I walked down the aisle at my wedding. Our friendship sure was strange, but I will never forget him and I am so sad to see him go. He loved his family, he loved meeting new and interesting people, sharing stories and speculating on life, nature, God, the universe and everything. The world would be a better place with more people like Jack. For what it's worth, he never feared death and sincerely thought he would get to see his mom and his brother and all the saints and angels on the other side. I hope that brought him comfort. Rest in peace, Jack Barry. I wish we had more time.
