

Joseph "Joe" Young of Naples, age 89, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024. Joe is survived by his current wife, Linda L. Young. And is preceded in death by his first wife Elaine C. Young (d. 1999). He is survived by his sister, Mary Patricia Martin. His children from his first marriage; Linda Jean Young, Joanne Cioroch (Jim), Lisa Douillard (Vern), Sharon Hagen (Bob) and Kristin Karwaski (Mark). His beautiful grandchildren; Gabriel Ortiz-Young, Kory (Ciera), Conner and Christopher Cioroch, Vern Douillard, Maggie Ging (Tom), Jolan Drouillard, Alec and Ryan Hagen and Mikey Karwaski. And his much adored great-granddaughters; Maisie Ging and Riley Cioroch. Joe's two step children; William Jason Howes (Janice) and Lori Howes Dowling (Jeremy). And step grandchildren; Austin Beavis, Kayla Howes and Jacob Howes. Joe is preceded in death by his parents; Joseph Wendel and Josephine Young.
Joe was born and raised in Philadelphia. He was in the army for two years, received a Bachelor's degree from LaSalle University and a Master's degree from Temple University. He worked at Ford Motor Company for 35 years and retired in 1992. Joe raised his five daughters in Michigan and eventually moved his permanent residence to Naples, Florida. Joe will be remembered for his love of Neil Diamond, his prized possession Kindle and his brilliant mind. Joe had many long time friendships. Friends from Philadelphia, Michigan and his new friends in Florida. He cherished these friendships and the many stories of good times had.
Joe was once asked what things describe him the best. His response, "Scotch, cigars and Michigan football" So as family and loved ones begin to move on, always remember Joe at parties and fun events and say a toast to "scotch, cigars and Michigan Football" LET's GO BLUE !!!!!!
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm with a memorial service at 2:00pm at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road in White Lake.
The family will have a private burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Reception information will be given at the memorial service.
