LaVern N. Smith, of White Lake, passed away March 23, 2017 at 87 years of age. Beloved husband of Virginia for 64 years. Loving father of Linda (Mark) Siersma, Kathy (Jack) Shaw, Ted (Karen) Smith and Cindy (Dennis) Boyle. Treasured grandfather of Jack (Gina) Shaw, Eric (Jenna) Shaw, Marie (Shawn) Cadwell and Nicholas Smith. Great-grandfather of Casey Shaw, Nova Shaw, Skylar Cadwell and Amy Cadwell. Brother and brother-in-law of Clayton Smith, Ralph (Karen) Smith, Alice Smith and the late Norma Melhaus and Don Smith. Celebration of Life along with Military Honors will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00am at Commerce United Methodist Church, 1155 N. Commerce Road, Commerce Township. A Luncheon will be taking place following the Service and everyone is welcome to attend. Burial will take place at 10:00 am, Monday, May 15, 2017 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford in Holly, Michigan. Those wishing to make a donation in his memory may do so to Commerce United Methodist Church.
