Louis R. Burmeister, age 83, of Novi; passed away peacefully on January 7, 2012. Beloved husband of Judy and the late MaryLou; dear father of Todd (Carole) Burmeister, Debra (Fred) Kressbach, Sandi (Steve) Dingman, Robyn (Terry) Carlson; proud grandfather of ten, one proceeding him in death; brother of Kay (Bob) Trusheim. Lou proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War, was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church, and was a Pontiac Motor employee for 30 years. The visitation hours will be on Friday, January 13, from 2 until 4 & 6 until 8 p.m. at the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 7390 Elizabeth Lake Road, Waterford, Michigan 48327; Mr. Burmeister will lie in state at church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service; interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Cemetery, Livonia. Memorials suggested to St. John’s Hospice or Peace Lutheran Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
