Marion K Benedict, beloved wife of Dale K Benedict, passed away Thursday September 17, 2026 surrounded by her family. Marion was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 27, 1944 to Arthur and Jana Krause. Growing up she lived in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Massachusetts. She met her husband at Cornell University where she attended the College of Home Economics. Following her graduation, they married in 1966. She worked as a Dietitian in several hospitals and institutions in Michigan and Ohio and was a 50-year member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She was very active in her church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Her hobbies included basket making, gardening, sewing and seasonally styling her porch goose. She especially enjoyed being a mother and a grandmother. She is survived by her husband, son Eric Benedict (Kassi), daughter Brenda Saban (Daniel), and grandchildren Alec Benedict, Bradley Benedict, Calliope Saban, Alan Saban, and her sister Elisabeth Reid (Malcolm) and nieces Kim Laster and family and Kerry Tower and family.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 24th at 10 am, followed by an 11 am memorial service at the Orchard Lake Community Church, Presbyterian, 5171 Commerce Road, Orchard Lake Village, MI.
