

Mary Ann Burke, age 84, of White Lake, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022, at her home. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Henry McNab, Deborah (Leo) Daignault, Robert McNab, Evelyn McNab, and Christie Burke; her nine grandchildren: Natasha, Sarah, Emily, Jacquelynn, Zachary, Blake, Ethan, Kaylah, and Daisy; her six great-grandchildren: Brodie, Kyli, Lily, Thomas, Jace, and Carol; and her daughter-in-law, Markelle Burke.
Mary was born July 9, 1937, in Handley, West Virginia, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Richard and Liza (Nichols) Thompson. She met James Burke in the 1970s, and eventually, they were married, spending many wonderful years together until James’s passing on January 5, 2017. Mary spent her adult life as a homemaker and stay-at-home-mother. She greatly enjoyed taking care of her children and grandchildren.
She was known to all as “ma” or “grandma.” She could always be found sporting her bright, ruby red lipstick! In her free time, Mary enjoyed taking trips to the casino and playing bingo. She was a remarkable woman who will be greatly missed.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Liza; her husband, James Burke; her two sons, Paul and Richard; her daughter, Frances; and her grandson, Justin.
In accordance with Mary’s wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 12:00 pm at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake, Michigan 48386. Mary’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm. Chaplain Eric Carlson will officiate.
