Mary Jane Monty

February 9, 1948 – August 18, 2026

Mary Jane Monty (Crull), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and devoted follower of Jesus Christ, passed away on August 18, 2026, at the age of 78.

Mary was born on February 9, 1948, to Liston Hubert Crull and Alice Genevieve Crull. She was a loving, nurturing woman with a wonderful sense of humor and a way of making everyone who crossed her path feel welcome. Whether you were family by blood or simply fortunate enough to know her, Mary had a way of making you feel like you belonged.

For Mary, nothing in this world was more important than her family. She was immensely proud of her children and considered being a grandmother and great-grandmother among the greatest blessings of her life. She spoiled her grandchildren and great-grandchildren beyond measure and treasured every opportunity she had to love on them, care for them, and make memories with them.

Mary shared 60 years of marriage with her husband, Thomas P. Monty Sr. Together, they built a life and a family that grew to include their four children, 13 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her husband, Thomas P. Monty Sr.; her children, Thomas Monty Jr. (Christina Monty), Dean Monty (Anthia Monty), Bryan Monty (Cristina Perez Galindo), and Danielle Raymer (Paul Raymer); her13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, James Crull, Diane Wummel, and Barbara Miller.

Those who knew Mary will also remember the things that simply made her Mary. She loved to shop, could happily spend hours watching the Hallmark Channel, and brought plenty of laughter to the people around her. But more than anything else, she loved being surrounded by the people she loved.

At the center of Mary’s life was her unwavering faith in Jesus. She never hesitated to talk about her faith and the love she had for her Savior. It was important to her that her grandchildren knew Him too, and she took the time to teach them about Jesus and share her faith with them. In doing so, she gave her family something that will continue through generations.

Mary leaves behind a family who never had to wonder how much she loved them. Her laughter, her nurturing spirit, the way she welcomed others, and the joy she found in spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be deeply missed.

Although saying goodbye to Mary brings tremendous sadness, her family finds comfort in the very faith she spent her life sharing with them. Psalm 34:18 reminds them that “The Lord is close to the

brokenhearted”, a promise they can hold especially close as they grieve her loss.

And as Mary so firmly believed throughout her life, there was no reason to fear what lay ahead, because she knew who walked beside her. In the words of Psalm 23:4, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.”

Mary’s legacy lives on in the family she loved so fiercely, the faith she shared so freely, and the countless lives made warmer simply because she was part of them.
