Beloved wife of James who preceded her in death. Loving mother of Martin (Anita) Waung, Marie (Thomas Brice) Waung, and David (Connie) Waung. Proud grandmother of Cassandra, Christopher, Daniel, Ryan, Brendan, Aidan, Elise, Austin (Abbe), August, Jonathan, and honorary granddaughter, Anne Marie. She is also survived by sisters, Margaret McGowan and Rosemary McIntyre, and many other loving family members.
Maureen emigrated to the United States from Scotland in 1969 with husband, James, and their three young children. She worked as a nurse and then became an elementary school teacher where she spent many years teaching 4th grade. She had a great sense of humor and a vivid imagination. She loved blue skies, thunderstorms, and spending time outside on long walks. Her bright eyes often twinkled with mischief and her smile was infectious. Her kind heart and joy in life's simple pleasures will be missed by all.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21st at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4300 Walnut Lake Road in West Bloomfield. The family will receive guests from 10:30 until the time of the mass at 11:00 am.
