Michael “Mike”, “Mickey” Sherman Burke, age 82, lost his long battle with Alzheimer’s on March 11, 2017, at home, surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Doris Burke. He was the last surviving child born to Sherman and Daisy Burke. Mike is survived by his children that he loved to the moon and back, Bob (Shari) Burke, Sharon (Harry) Linton, Cathi Burke, and Kim Maurer (Steve Yates); his son-in-law, Todd Maurer; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews and lifetime friends. Mike served his country in the National Guard, followed by the Korean conflict. He will always be remembered for his amazing ability to make every child he met feel loved and special by way of his kind heart and love of music. All that knew him will forever share memories of his crazy antics and practical jokes he played on everyone, including strangers he just wanted to annoy and harass. For the countless nieces and nephews, there will never be another “Uncle Mickey.” The family would like to invite everyone to join them in celebrating Mike’s incredible life on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 with Memorial Visitation from 1:00pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 3:00pm at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake. Afterwards there will be a dinner at the VFW Hall on Union Lake Road. Memorial donations can be made to Grace Hospice. Share a memory at www.eltonblackandsonwhitelake.com
