Michael Joseph Snell, aged 61, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, in White Lake, Michigan. Born on May 2, 1964, in Pontiac, Michigan, Michael was a beloved son, partner, brother, uncle, and friend who lived a life full of passion, creativity, and love.
The cherished son of Jim and Jo Snell, Michael grew up in a home where family was the cornerstone of life. His enduring relationship with his significant other, Susie Palermo, spanned two decades, filled with shared dreams and unwavering support. Michael's love and laughter were a constant presence in the lives of his siblings, Roslyn Oski and Dana (Duane) Adkins, and he was a guiding light for his nieces and nephews: Kayla (Steve) Twigg, Marisa Snell, Selena Oski, Dominic Oski, Halie Stiel, Aaliyah Detiege, and Addisyn Detiege. His furry companions, Flash and Roxy, were also treasured members of his family.
Michael's educational journey culminated with an Associate's Degree, which served as the foundation for his successful career as a Tool & Die maker at Fischer Dynamics. His professional acumen was matched by his commitment to community, as evidenced by his membership in the Eagles Aire 3575. A man of faith, Michael lived his Christian values through acts of kindness and his ever-present willingness to lend a helping hand.
An outdoorsman at heart, Michael found joy in fishing for bass and walleye and embraced the serenity of bow hunting season. His green thumb was apparent to all who admired the vibrant flower gardens he so lovingly tended. Michael's work ethic was unparalleled, and his mathematical mind ensured that every project, be it a budget or a blueprint, was executed with precision. The holidays were a special time for Michael, as he reveled in the festive meals and decorations, always striving to make each celebration one to remember.
Known for his signature Rum and Cokes, always served in a glass and only with Bacardi Silver, Michael's presence at gatherings was a guarantee of good times and laughter. He had a unique gift for assigning nicknames, each a product of his vivid imagination, endearing him to those around him. An "Animal Whisperer" to many, his love for all creatures was evident in every interaction.
Music was another of Michael's passions, with the tunes of Bob Marley often accompanying him on his fishing expeditions. His love for the outdoors extended to swimming and boating on his prized Mastercraft, and he could frequently be found absorbed in episodes of his favorite TV show, "The Deadliest Catch." A fan of Chevrolet, Michael was particularly fond of their trucks, favoring those in black or red. His fish tank was a source of tranquility, and he took pleasure in caring for his aquatic friends.
Michael lived by the ethos, "Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer," a testament to his strategic mind and deep understanding of human nature. He will be remembered as loving, courageous, and endlessly interesting—a man whose life was as rich and multifaceted as the tapestry of relationships he wove.
As we bid farewell to Michael Joseph Snell, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and an indomitable spirit that will continue to inspire all who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and the pursuit of happiness will endure in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of sharing in his remarkable journey.
