

Mildred P. Sinkel, age 94, of White Lake; passed away peacefully on March 17, 2011. Mildred was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Her many enjoyments included gardening, canning and spending time with her family, where she never forgot a birthday or Christmas present. She loved cooking big meals for the entire family and was the caretaker with a “servant’s heart”. During the depression, she was involved in the Locke Orchestra, performing at many different celebrations. She will be sadly missed by many. Beloved wife of the late Anthony S. Sinkel; dear mother of Karen (George) Grimshaw of Rochester, New York, James (Paula) Sinkel of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, Nancy Degenfelder of Milford, MI, Gerald (Jane) Sinkel of Manton, MI; proud grandmother of 13, great-grandmother of 35; sister of twin brothers the late Walter and William Locke, and a sister, the late Marcine (Thomas) Wallace; sister-in-law of Marian Locke of Winter Park, FL, and Helen Locke of Dearborn, MI. The family would like to thank her loving and caring neighbors for the special attention they showed to Mildred. The Mass of Resurrection will be Friday, March 25, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 9086 Hutchins Road, White Lake. The visitation hours will be on Thursday, March 24, 2011, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake. Mrs. Sinkel will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home for St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, MS Foundation and Meals on Wheels.
