

Patricia Ann Woodley, affectionately known as Pat to her friends and loved ones, was a beacon of love and faith throughout her 81 years of life. Born on September 19, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, Pat's journey on earth came to a peaceful end on September 24, 2025, in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Pat was the loving mother of Teresa Woodley, Jennie Woodley, Natacha Woodley, and Teresa Elena Vega, and she took immense joy in her role as the grandmother to 11 wonderful grandchildren. She was a beloved sibling to Judy (Dennis) Landin, Connie (Tom) Szudarek, Joe Woodley, and was predeceased by her siblings Lori Watson, Robert Woodley, and Doug Woodley. Pat was the treasured daughter of the late Bernadine and Francis Woodley, whose legacy she carried with grace and dignity.
Her educational journey was marked by a deep commitment to service and faith. Pat graduated from Annunciation Catholic High School in Detroit, laying the foundation for her lifelong dedication to helping others. She furthered her education at Boston College, where she earned her Master's Degree in Social Work. Her passion for her faith led her to join the Carmelite order as a nun, a period of her life that shaped her profound spiritual fortitude.
Pat's professional life was marked by her unwavering dedication to the welfare of others. She served as a supervisor at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, where her guidance and leadership were invaluable. Her calling as a social worker took her to Boston, Massachusetts, and later to Macomb County, where she devoted her career to supporting and uplifting those in need until her retirement in 2017.
Her love for the city of Boston was only matched by her love for children and her community. Pat was a woman of action and spirit, engaging in athletics during her youth, including swimming, softball, and basketball. Her hands were rarely still, as she found solace and joy in knitting and crocheting, creating pieces that were as warm and comforting as her presence.
Pat was a pillar of strength, love, and faith. Described as loving, thoughtful, and faith-filled, she embodied the Christian spirit in every aspect of her life. She was a hard worker, a caring soul, and a woman who found happiness in the happiness of others.
In her life, Pat exemplified the words of Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." This quote resonates with the life Pat led, doing every small act with great love, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.
Pat's legacy is one of compassion, service, and unwavering faith. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Yet, even as we mourn her passing, we celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the countless lives she enriched with her kindness. Rest in peace, Patricia Ann Woodley, and may your soul find eternal joy in the loving embrace of the Lord.
