He was a proud Army veteran who served his country in Vietnam, carrying with him the discipline, resilience, and sense of duty that would remain defining traits throughout his life. Those who knew him remember a man of integrity, humility, and dependability, someone who met life’s challenges with calm determination and a respectful spirit.
He graduated from Edwin C. Denby High School in 1963, beginning a path that would lead to a long and meaningful career. Bob spent his working years at General Motors Truck & Bus, where he contributed in Mass Analysis, Engineering, and Product Planning. He took pride in his work and was respected for his knowledge, reliability, and thoughtful approach. His career reflected not only his technical skill but also his loyalty to the company and the colleagues with whom he shared so many years.
On October 10, 1970, Bob married Sandra Kristen, and together they built a life rooted in love, partnership, and family. Their marriage was a source of lasting joy and companionship, and Sandra remained an important part of his life and memory. He treasured his role as husband, father, and grandfather, and he found great happiness in the family he helped nurture over the years.
Bob is survived by his son, Scott Kristen, and Scott’s wife, Holly Sharp, as well as his granddaughter, Veronica Kristen. His family was a source of deep pride for him, and he cherished the time he spent with them. He valued family gatherings, shared stories, and the simple moments that created lasting memories. His presence brought comfort and steadiness to those around him, and his love for his family was evident in the care and attention he gave throughout his life.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his service to his country, and his devotion to family. Bob carried himself with a quiet dignity that left a lasting impression on friends, relatives, and coworkers alike. He was the kind of man whose actions spoke clearly, and whose kindness was shown through consistency, loyalty, and respect for others.
