

Roger “Rog” Lee Lowry, Jr., age 60, of Waterford, Michigan, passed away on June 17, 2026. He was born on April 28, 1966, in Pontiac, Michigan, and lived a life marked by love, humor, hard work, and devotion to the people and passions that meant the most to him.
Roger was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was married to April Lowry on April 20th in Waterford, Michigan, and their life together was built on companionship, loyalty, and shared memories. He was the father of Robert (Windsor) Lowry, Paul (Angel) Gratopp, Jessica Grattop, and he took great pride in each of them. He was also the grandfather of Leo Lowry, Lucas Lowry, Cameron Gratopp, Aubrey Saldana, Amelia Gratopp, Theo Gratopp, and there was nothing he enjoyed more than time spent with his grandchildren. He was the brother of Brian (Kristin) Lowry, the uncle of Shawn (Samantha) Lowry, Jr. and Jacob Lowry, and he also held close the bonds of family that extended through his former spouse Nena Lowry. He is further survived by his parents Roger Lowry Sr. and Jacqueline Rose Lowry. He was the devoted dog-father of his chocolate Labrador, Sky, who was a beloved part of his daily life. He was preceded in passing by his brother Shawn Lowry Sr.
Roger worked as a truck driver for the United States Post Office, where he was known for his dependable nature and strong work ethic. He approached his work with the same steady commitment that he brought to every part of his life. He was handy, practical, and always willing to help when something needed to be fixed or done. Those who knew him best will remember his ability to make people laugh, his easygoing sense of humor, and the warmth he brought into the lives of others.
He was also a huge fan of the University of Michigan, especially football, and he followed the team with great enthusiasm. Music was another important part of his life, and he especially loved rock and roll, with Pink Floyd among his favorite artists. He also enjoyed watching television, and some of his favorite shows included Landman and The Tulsa King.
Above all else, Roger cherished his family. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and those moments brought him great joy. His presence at family gatherings, his laughter, and his steady love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered as a man who was loving, handy, and funny, and whose life was defined by the relationships he built and the memories he created with those closest to him.
Roger Lee Lowry, Jr. leaves behind a legacy of devotion, strength, and kindness. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, in the stories they share, and in the many lives he touched throughout his years.

A memorial visitation will be held in Roger’s honor on Friday, June 26th, 2026, at the Elton Black and Son Union Lake Chapel at 4:00 PM until the start of the memorial service at 5:00 PM.
