Rose Marie Cox of White Lake, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2026 at 89 years of age.
Rose Marie will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude for a life shaped by compassion, steady thoughtfulness, and a generous spirit that reached far beyond her own home. Her care for others was evident in the many charities she supported, giving faithfully and consistently, always looking for ways to help.
An animal lover at heart, Rose Marie held a special affection for her beloved golden retriever, Francis Marie, whose companionship brought her great comfort and joy. She also found happiness in music, especially at her baby grand piano, and she enjoyed bingo and a variety of games—simple pleasures made meaningful by the warmth she brought to every gathering.
Rose Marie’s home on the lake was a place of welcome and celebration. She loved entertaining, marked each holiday with care, and delighted in playing Santa Claus for her children and grandchildren year after year. She will be especially remembered for her Sunday dinners, where everyone was always welcome, and for her famous barbque ribs—meals that reflected the kindness and generosity with which she lived.
Family was deeply important to Rose Marie, and she had a gift for making people feel at ease, included, and valued. Her presence created a sense of belonging that will be missed and cherished always.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road in White Lake. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 pm. Mrs. Cox will then be reunited with her beloved husband, Howard at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi following the funeral.
