Loving mother of Susan Rusiecki, Charles (Linda) Darga, Michael (Deborah) Darga, Jane Darga, Leon (Sharon) Darga, Jr. and Peter (Colleen) Darga. Proud grandmother of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sadly she is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth Barkowski, her husband, Leon Darga, one daughter, Karen Darga and two sisters; Loretta Tallerico and Evelyn Barkowski.
Ruth married Leon on December 1, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. She retired as library technician at Bloomfield Township Library in 1988. She was a baker at Bowman Farm Cupboard in the 1960’s and owned and operated her own small catering company for a period of time. Mrs. Darga had been a member at St. Patrick Catholic Church since 1986.
Among her many hobbies, she enjoyed quilting, basket weaving, cooking and baking. She loved traveling and had the privilege of visiting all 50 states. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 18, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9086 Hutchins in White Lake. The family will receive friends at church from 10:30am until the time of mass at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
